Subject: COAST: CASG New Faculty Awards 2021; Apply to COAST for required
matching funds
To: <coastlistserv at lists.calstate.edu>
Dear COAST,
Per the email below, California Sea Grant (CASG) today released an RFP
specifically for new faculty (defined as those who received their
first-ever faculty appointment no earlier than January 1, 2018). COAST is
interested in facilitating CSU faculty members’ ability to apply to and be
awarded funds from CASG. The required 50% non-federal match has long been
identified as a significant barrier to CSU faculty members applying to this
program. To reduce this barrier, COAST will provide the non-federal match
for CSU PIs who meet certain criteria.
Please read the materials hyperlinked from CASG's email below and then
consult COAST's website
<https://www2.calstate.edu/impact-of-the-csu/research/coast/funding/Pages/SSINP-CASG-Matching-Funds-Request.aspx>
which provides more information on the process to apply to COAST for the
non-federal match.
Please also note that CASG will host a Q & A session on April 28, 2020. You
may register through the hyperlink below.
Lastly, please contact CASG directly for questions about eligibility or the
funding program as a whole. If you have questions specific to COAST's
process to provide the non-federal match, please contact me at
avierra at csumb.edu or 415-806-2666.
Thank you,
Amy
