Engineering 201, 328 & 427 Smart Classroom Upgrades

Description:  Please be advised that the Office of Project Management will be starting a facility project that may impact your area. Below are the details of the scope of work and anticipated impacts:

Scope of Work:  Engineering 201, 328 and 427 will be refreshed and receive technology upgrades.

Description of Scope:  Work will vary slightly from room to room, but may include abatement, demolition, new flooring, new ceiling, paint, new LED lights, new chair rail, and installation of smart classroom technology.

Reason for Project:  Improvement to instructional space on campus.

Anticipated Impacts:  There is the potential for odor associated with new paint and new flooring. Dust and odor mitigation measures will be in place in an effort to reduce impact to building occupants. There will be intermittent noise associated with some of the work activities.
There is the potential for odor associated with products used to abate the existing floor, new paint, and new flooring. Dust and odor mitigation measures will be in place in an effort to reduce impact to building occupants. There will be intermittent noise associated with some of the work activities. Please note, all abatement activities will be performed by a licensed asbestos abatement contractor, in accordance with state and federal regulations. To ensure the health and safety of all building occupants, the project will be monitored by a third party environmental consultant and overseen by SDSU Environmental Health & Safety.

Start Date:  Tuesday, May 28, 2019
End Date:    Friday, August 23, 2019
