Colleagues,

On Monday, August 26th, the Director of the Department of Navy's HBCU/MI
Program Mr. Anthony C. Smith and his team will be visiting SDSU. Mr. Smith
will be giving a presentation on how the Navy's Minority Institution
Program can build capacity at our institution and how you all can leverage
the unique opportunities provided by his office to fund research, graduate
fellowships, and undergraduate internships. Having Mr. Smith on campus is a
great opportunity for us to learn more about his program and to demonstrate
to the visiting team the unique capabilities of our University, faculty,
and students.

Please join us from 8:30 - 9:30 am in Donald P. Shiley BioScience Center
Gold Auditorium for his talk and feel free to join in the activities that
follow (faculty lightening talks, facilities tour, and introduction to
student organizations and research). Please share this information with
others in your department and graduate students who may be interested, do
not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns, thanks!

To ensure ample opportunity for questions and discussion during Mr. Smith's
talk, space is limited to 50 people on a first come, first served basis.
