[Faculty] Fwd: George Craig

I whole-heartedly concur with the sentiments expressed by Janusz Supernak.
Like him, I joined SDSU when George Craig was the Dean and saw him lead our
college during a period of transition from an academic institution that was
primarily teaching focused to one that sought to balance scholarly
activities with teaching with both being equally important and necessary
for tenure and promotion.  This clearly stated goal made SDSU unique and
very attractive for faculty recruitment.

I also recall George Craig's congenial manner and relaxed administrative
style which enabled differences of approach and opinion to be discussed,
debated, and even resolved.  May he rest in peace knowing that he left
behind some fond memories.
