Dear Arlene,
I hope all is well. I'm not sure about the procedure to send an email to all faculty, but would you please send the following to all the faculty in the college?
Faculty from the Departments of Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Biology, and Geological Sciences are launching a mentoring initiative called SDSU MInDSET (Maximizing INclusion and Diversity in Science, Engineering, and Technology) to combat the STEM pipeline attrition rate seen in all underrepresented groups. Please see the attached flyer for more details.
Our Format: Faculty sponsors will mentor graduate students and postdocs in STEM in monthly hour long meetings.
Our Members: Our members are graduate students and postdocs who are interested in maximizing inclusion and diversity in STEM in all underrepresented groups.
To Join: If you are interested in receiving mentoring through SDSU MInDSET, please signup using the link below:
http://tinyurl.com/sdsu-mindset
Please sign up by November 10th!
Our first event: A seminar given by Maria del Pilar O’Cadiz, PhD., of UCLA, on improving the STEM pipeline with a focus on underrepresented minorities.
GMCS 313 at 1:30pm on Friday Nov 18th
All are welcome!
Thank you,
George Youssef, Ph.D., P.E.
