Askhan,

** "For reappointment and tenure consideration, committee members must be tenured faculty employees of any rank" refers to faculty members who are considered for tenure and promotion

** "... a departmental representative who shall be a full time tenured faculty member with the rank of full professor..." refers to faculty members who are members of the college RTP committee. College RTP committee is formed with only full professors.

There is no conflict I think.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks a lot
Yusuf

However, section 2.1-B.1 says "... a departmental representative who shall be a full time tenured faculty member with the rank of full professor...".

Last year, Dean's office have been notified that certain sections of the COE policy file and bylaws are contradicting with University policy file. Unfortunately we failed to address the required changes on time last year due to changes in the office. Dr. Mehrabadi's office worked with Edith Benkov to address the problem and modified the sections of the bylaws that pertain to the RTP/Personnel committee. The suggested changes to the RTP/Personnel committee to bring it to compliance with the university policy have been reviewed and approved by Edith Benkov, It has been reviewed by the college executive committee and it has been reviewed and approved by college policy council.

Unfortunately the current college policy file is out of compliance with the university policy and we have been given a deadline of September 10 (today) to bring it to compliance. We have been working very hard to address this issue and meet the deadline.

If you do not have any concerns regarding the changes, I will appreciate if you can vote via email sending me an "approved" message by the end of the day TODAY.
