Dear COE Faculty and Staff,

 

Please review the email below from Provost Enwemeka regarding the Annual Explore SDSU day to be held on March 14, 2015.  I’ve included the schedule from 2014 to remind you what we did last year.  Slight changes are in the works for 2015.  Nonetheless, Please let me know if you are interested in hosting a lab or demonstration.  Department Chairs, please confirm your attendance for the department talks.

 

I ask that you let me know by Monday 11/3/14 if you (or your department) are planning to participate.  We need representation from every department and from most of our disciplines.

 

Staff Volunteers and Student organizations will be invited separately.

SUBJECT: Your Participation in Explore SDSU Open House 2015

I realize it's only October, but the university is already fairly far along in its planning for Explore SDSU Open House 2015. This large event will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2015, and will showcase the quality of teaching, research, creative activity, and community service at SDSU. We anticipate approximately 20,000 people will attend, including admitted students and their families who are making decisions on whether or not to enroll at SDSU. Alumni are invited as well to participate in a variety of ways. We also encourage our community to visit the campus and learn more about the outstanding people, programs and facilities at SDSU.

We want to have all programs represented so we can respond to all the needs of our incoming students. I encourage you to consider creative ways you and your program might participate. This participation might include information booths, interactive learning, lab demonstrations, student/faculty performances, and other activities that would be of interest to campus visitors.

The Explore SDSU Planning Committee, which includes participation by all of SDSU's colleges and many other departments, is seeking proposals from faculty, students and staff interested in participating in the event.
