I just received the following information regarding the unexpected passing
of Ron Hunter. Please feel free to share this with other colleagues,
particularly emeritus faculty and retired staff, who would have worked with
Ron during his time at University.

Dear Dean Hayhurst:

 

It is with great sadness that I notify you of the passing of my brother, Ron
Hunter. He deceased Thursday, January 3, 2013, unexpectedly.  The Hunter
family kindly requests you notify Ron's colleagues and the campus community
of his passing and impending memorial services as you deem appropriate.  

 

Anyone from SDSU that would like to attend the service celebrating Ron's
life should know that it will be held on Tuesday, January 8, 2013, at
Greenwood Mortuary, located at 4300 Imperial Ave, San Diego, CA,
619-264-3131.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be
made to the American Cancer Society, in Ron's name. More information will be
available on Greenwood's website (www.greenwoodsandiego.com) on Monday.

 

A special thank you to Donovan Geiger for his sensitivity and assistance on
Friday.
