On Tuesday, January 31, 2012 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., the University will
launch its first the President's Lecture. The inaugural lecturer will be
Paul E. Jacobs, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of
Qualcomm, Inc. Dr. Jacobs will speak about the "Challenges of a CEO" and
"Societal Issues -- How Can Wireless Technology Enhance Global Quality of
Life." This is an invitation only lecture and RSVP's are required. The
lecture will take place in the Fowler Family Ballroom in the Parma Payne
Goodall Alumni Center.
The College of Engineering has been provided a unique opportunity to extend
invitations to all faculty, staff and students until the lecture hall
capacity is reached. Would you please announce this opportunity to your
students? I further recommend that each of us attend if available. QUALCOMM
not only has a leadership role in wireless technology worldwide, but is now
making great strides to improve healthcare through innovations in the
interface between wireless communications and telemedicine. It should be a
great lecture!
Please contact Kori Kaufman directly for information on how to sign up for
the lecture. I hope to see you all there.
David
