[Faculty] AIAA award for Outstanding Contribution to Aerospace Education

Dear Colleagues,

I am happy to inform you that the San Diego section of AIAA has 
selected Dr. Allen Plotkin for its annual award for Outstanding 
Contribution to Aerospace Education. The award announcement says Dr. 
Plotkin is "selected to receive an AIAA award for Outstanding 
Contribution to Aerospace Education for his determined support of the 
Aerospace Engineering program at SDSU and his role in educating 
students both in the classroom and by engineering publishing."

Allen has been a professor of aerospace engineering at University of 
Maryland and at San Diego State University for a combined of 43 
years.  Over this time he has contributed extensively to aerospace 
education in his various roles, as professor, department chair, and 
the author of a worldwide used textbook in low speed aerodynamics. I 
hope you will join me congratulating him on this recognition.
