
Established in 1961, the SDSU College of Engineering offers the Master of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering, BioEngineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering. The Master of Engineering is also offered. Further, the Doctoral degree in Engineering Science/Applied Mechanics is offered jointly with the University of California at San Diego.
Graduate students work closely with faculty in several research areas including telecommunication systems, bioremediation engineering, signal processing, residual stress measurements using acoustic microscopy, high altitude unmanned aerial vehicle design, sintering polymeric powders, storm water management and hybrid-electric vehicle design under contracts and grants from industry, state and federal government agencies and non-profit organizations. Several projects involve faculty and students collaborating with local industry as San Diego offers a rich and dynamic research-oriented environment.
