Graduate Studies and Research Programs

All students must satisfy the general requirements for admission to the Graduate Division with classified graduate standing. Further, candidates for admission to the Master of Science Degree in the College of Engineering must have attained a grade point average of at least 2.85 out of 4.0 in the last 60 semester (or 90 quarter) units of technical study of their undergraduate engineering degree program. Candidates who have not earned an undergraduate degree in one of the engineering disciplines must make up any deficiencies as deemed necessary by the Graduate Division and the College of Engineering.

For the Joint Doctoral Program offered through a partnership with the University of California at San Diego, the Ph.D. candidate must have an acceptable bachelor's degree or master's degree and must meet the requirements of both SDSU and UCSD.
